Marketing WhatsApp launches the biggest Privacy Push with Aamir Khan's Voiceover WhatsApp just launched a new global campaign called "Not Even WhatsApp", marking one of the most extensive global marketing efforts focusing on privacy. Minal Jain May 21, 2025 12:20 IST Not Even WhatsApp WhatsApp just launched a new global campaign called "Not Even WhatsApp", targeting to strengthen the platform’s commitment to 100% user privacy. The campaign is designed to highlight that no one, including WhatsApp, can access the personal messages shared by over 3 billion monthly users on its platform. The broader campaign will roll out in the coming months across various countries, including India, the US, the UK, Brazil, and Mexico, through TV, digital media, outdoor ads, and WhatsApp itself. In India, the campaign will cover 16 states, which includes Delhi, Maharashtra, and Karnataka. The 60-second TV spot campaign is directed by Achowe of Chalk and Cheese Films. It is shot in Delhi across the Yamuna riverbanks and the famous Chandni Chowk. This advertisement basically offers a visual metaphor from WhatsApp’s end, ensuring that with its end-to-end encryption, even the common daily conversations remain private and fully secure. End-to-end encryption is the core of WhatsApp’s security model, which ensures that messages and calls remain 100 % secure between the sender and the recipient. And according to WhatsApp declaration, not even the company can read or listen to any communication. The ad campaign will include voiceovers for different regions by different public personalities, like actor Aamir Khan, who will give voiceovers for Hindi and English versions in India. The campaign will also highlight WhatsApp’s recent privacy-related feature updates, like the "Advanced Chat Privacy", which aims to limit the content shared beyond the app, particularly in sensitive conversations. Another new feature, Privacy Checkup, offers WhatsApp users a guide to review and adjust their security settings according to their needs. As per Vivian Odior, WhatsApp’s Marketing Head, "WhatsApp is the next best thing to an in-person conversation. This campaign brings to life our privacy promise that no one, including WhatsApp, can see or hear your personal messages in the most emotional and relatable way – all centred in the everyday moments that we are all so familiar with.” Lastly, with this campaign, WhatsApp’s marks its one of the most extensive global marketing efforts focusing on privacy.
