Marketing Xiaomi takes a dig at iPhone 16 users by wishing them 'Happy April Fool's Day' The Chinese smartphone recently unveiled a front-page ad in The Economic Times to wish a “Happy April Fool's Day” to anyone who believes that the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s camera is better than its newly launched Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Minal Jain Apr 01, 2025 10:41 IST xiaomi Xiaomi launched its latest 15 Ultra with a front-page ad in The Economic Times. The ad mocks people who believe that the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s camera is better than Xiaomi’s. And this time, it does so uniquely, celebrating April Fools' Day with a sarcastic jab at Apple. But it didn’t stop there; the brand further added, “Every day is April Fool's Day if you fell for it.” Certainly, Xiaomi isn't the first or the last brand to poke fun at Apple for marketing drives. And this wasn’t the first time Xiaomi made fun of Apple's expensive phones. When the Xiaomi 15 series was launched in India on March 11, it put out a print ad that titled the iPhone 16 Pro Max's camera “cute” and then cheekily called its camera features subtle, ineffective. Samsung also took a dig at Apple when it released an ad that showed a woman who acquired a guitar and used the Samsung Tab S9 to play musical notes after a bad encounter with Apple's "crush" ad. The tagline against Apple was “Creativity cannot be crushed” Xiaomi 15 Ultra is the company's latest phone, which has a sleek Silver Chrome finish with Leica M-series cameras and optics, engineered in alliance with the German brand Leica. Besides smartphone companies, many brands often indulge in such playful rivalry. These days, brands are often seen not missing out on any chance to poke fun at contemporaries.
