Top Ranking Music Streaming Apps in India

Music lover’s life has been made at ease with the advent of the music streaming platforms which freed them from the torrents of downloading the music.

And music lover’s are at seventh moon with the launch of Spotify in India.

Let’s take a brief look at the top ranked music apps in India:

Spotify : 

A Sweden based- music streaming platform introduced in 2008 , now in 2019 made its advent in the Indian market.  Spotify managed to garner one million subscribers in just a week . Currently it covers around 159 million users in 65 countries.  The users got to hear some  curated playlists mostly preferred by other users including Editor’s picks , best of artists and multiple auto –generated playlists in diverse genres including Bollywood , Tamil , Telgu and Punjabi and many other regional music.

 

Apple Music: 

Apple Music enables its users to explore music-video playlists and users themselves create playlists according to mood. It also showcases the lyrics on the right of the app , while the song is being played.  Apple Music app is compatible with iPhone, iPad , Apple Watch , Apple TV , Mac CarPlay , Android and Sonos. 

Amazon Prime Music:

The app provides its users with no ads and unlimited offline downloads. It is very preferable among music lovers who enjoy Amazon’s Alexa ,  likewise , if it is said ,” Alexa , play what’s hot in Mumbai,”,  Alexa provides you with music liked by Mumbaikars.  It can be played on only one device at a point of time on Android, iOS, Web Player , Amazon Fire TV Stick , Amazon Echo devices and other Alexa-enabled devices.

 

jioSaavn

jioSaavan can be accessed on Google Play, Apple Store and Windows Store. This app by Reliance offers  45 million songs to over 250 million subscribers . JioSaavan especially render 30s , 40s classical and 70s -80s retro music in almost all the Indian languages including – Odia, Assamese , Telugu , Urdu , Malayalam and etc.

 

Gaana:

Gaana established in April 2010 claimed to serve over 80 million users . It offers its music streaming services both in Indian and International Music , particularly in India it is offering  music playlists around in 21 languages. Gaana supports almost all the operating systems. 

 

Wynk Music:

Airtel users avail the Wynk Music which provides them retro hits to Bollywood , regional musics to devotional music and top40 UK hits. Wynk Music , a free app reportedly claims over 75 million downloads.

 

Raaga:

Raaga provides you all kinds of music tastes from cult classics to world music, also provides 24*7 live radio , daily news , audio stories , podcasts and some personalised talk shows also. It claims to have more than seven million users in the country.
