- It is too strange that the top “Online Food Delivery Platform” Companies knock back in most of the Hotels amd Restaurants in Ahmedabad and , its even more peculiar when it is seen that this boycott continues to exist now also.
- Negotiations and Discussions over Swiggy and Zomato Boycott by Ahmedabad Hotels didn’t reach any final destination.
An Industry Association stated , “ the decision of restaurants and hotels in Ahmedabad to boycott leading online food delivery platforms Swiggy and Zomato has led to a 30% drop in their Online Deliveries and yet they will continue the boycott “
What Hotel And Restaurant Association (HRA) has to say about this Knock –Back??
Hotel and Restaurant Association (HRA) is the association body in Gujrat to overview it’s Hotels and Restaurants .
HRA is not willing to acknowledge the advice by the Hotels and Restaurants to inflate their food prices in order to make the payments of high commissions charged by Swiggy and Zomato.
More than 500 Restaurants and Hotels have blacklisted Swiggy while many knock – back Zomato because of their poor business practices .
The Association Body remarked that one of the biggest reason to continue this knock-back is that high commissions of Swiggy and Zomato had been choking their profits.
Rohit Khanna , HRA member , alleged that ,” online companies have been forcing Restaurants and Hotels to raise the food prices by20% to absorb the high commissions.”
However , Representatives of Swiggy and Zomato , don’t make anything clear and claimed that their business in Ahmedabad has stabilised.
Negotiations by Swiggy and Zomato:
- Swiggy has agreed to the demand of HRA to pertain 100 % payment against cancellation.
- Zomato concedes to give Hotels and Restaurants the Right to Deliver food by providing them the hybrid model option in order to make self- deliveries.
But Industry still didn’t feel satisfied by the these negotiations and it’s difficult to ascertain till when this knock – back will continue..
